Dear Wappingers Falls Business Owners,
The Wappingers Falls Business & Professional Association is a membership organization that was established to create, advocate and promote a business friendly environment that allows for the expansion and retention of local business. Put simple, we are the voice for business in the Village of Wappingers Falls and surrounding area. Over the past year, the WFBPA has stood side by side with our local businesses to offer assistance and support to owners and their employees, as you faced the challenges of operating under the cloud of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many of our local businesses found unique ways to adapt to a new way of conducting their business and managed to stay afloat during the difficult early days of shutdown. Sadly many others were forced to close and not reopen. Likewise, the WFBPA found ourselves rethinking how our organization could best help support local business in this time of crisis and chaos.
Traditionally, the WFBPA has conducted a membership drive in the late winter as our membership year runs from April 1st to March 31st. Our Spring 2020 campaign was conducted via email and social media and focused on trying to identify and create a database of our local business community. The COVID-19 shutdown showed the WFBPA that we were sorely lacking in our ability to disseminate critical information because we lacked the means to have direct contact with local business. We have taken strides to correct this, but still have a long way to go to bring a listing of local business current. We have actively supported all businesses in our area during this crisis, regardless of being a member or not. However, we need members to help grow our organization and to help rebuild our local economy. The future still remains uncertain and we need to strengthen our voice for business.
Over the next few months members of the WFBPA Board of Directors will be visiting all of the businesses in the Village of Wappingers Falls and immediate surrounding area. We will be asking you to join our organization. If you had previously paid membership dues for 2020-2021 year, “Thank You” for the much needed financial support! Please consider yourself renewed through 2022 but please update your contact info. If you are joining us for the first time, know that we will continue to work hard on your behalf.
We are in the process of updating our brochure that highlights information about our organization. The current version on the website gives an overview of how we support your business and support our community. We encourage you to visit our website at www.WFBPA.org. Throughout the many years that the WFBPA has existed, we have always taken pride in our commitment to encouraging businesses to establish and remain in the Village of Wappingers Falls. You can count on us to go the extra mile in our 1 square mile Village to make this happen.
Our membership dues are $100.00 for businesses and $50.00 for individuals. Please join and help us to continue to build a strong business community.
